M.K. Gandhi quote

Quote from today's AWAD. One that the so-called followers of his philosophy (especially socialists) should take note of:
As the State is a soulless machine, it can never be weaned from violence to which it owes its very existence.
-Mohandas K. Gandhi (1869-1948)

Have you read stuff by the sub-altern studies scholar Ashis Nandy? He is a Gandhian and has written lots of stuff on Hinduism and colonialism. Criticism of the violence of the state by any anarchist pales in comparison to this guy's critique.
